$200 a year to insure and a 1 time fee of $35 for plates it fulfills my need for a bug out vehicle perfectly. My truck has the cheap insurance, cheap plates, and I only use it for fun and events, parades, etc. However, if you want cheap insurance and plates, then it cannot be used for routine transportation, so then you can't drive it to work anyway. Now, an uncustomized deuce would get obnoxious after a few days of back and forth driving. If I had a deuce liek robr's in those videos, I'd drive it to work everyday no problem and it would be potentially free fuel. There are those that have the need for such a vehicle due to location and loads to transport but that is not for me at this time. However I have yet been able to justify it other than it just being a big toy for my situation. Very nice ones for $5000 and up if coustimized the sky is the limit Has low 4:56 gears-1)great for hauling offroad -surface street traffic- general farm/heavy work truckĢ) Max highway speeds of 55 mph mabey 60 if taller tires are added.Īs far as the deuce goes I want one my self. (M1028 comes with additional front locker and has helper springs for increased payload weight) (Dana 60 front and 14ff bolt rear)Ĭomes with rear locker. With 3/4 ton axles w/manual hubs.ĭosent stand out as much in the city crowd with a plain paint job such as flat black.Ĭomplete manuals are avaliable on line for free.īased on the 1984 Chevy K3500 4x4 long bed Pickup w/manual hubs. Here is the run down as I see it for several choices. With a budget of 20k you can actually have them both easy! Step back and decide what you will really need it for.
